The eighth frame takes a room, not photographs: the wire room plays six seeded synthetic days over the №004 board while seven sensors fire fact-lines onto a wire — first scan, dead-man, read dates, the kill bar, a failed payment, a midnight text — each citing the standing doctrine that pre-registered its condition, each tappable down to event ids. The PROPOSED shelf hangs beside them, greyed: the sensors the experiment judged valuable but could not parent, wearing the doctrine they would need. The temptation log runs to seven refusals, verbatim in the specimen; the strain is measured rather than hidden (a framework that speaks in rates, salience without color, the wire's structural blindness to the unparented); and the finding is argued from the rendered days: pre-registration reconciles the brief with the bell.

The wire learns to speak in facts
Lab №008, EXPLORATION lane: what should KDG's nervous system notice, and how does it speak honestly? The hypothesis under test — a sensor may fire only on a condition pre-registered in standing doctrine, and every firing is counts, ids, and citations — survived six rendered days, including the worst one: on THE KILL-BAR DAY the framework's halt condition arrives as three quiet count-lines in the 07:00 brief (cumulative mailed 308 · scanned slugs 4 = 1.3%, bar 1.5% · threads 0 — MATCHED), at full gravity, with no adjective anywhere. The instrument checked what eyes can't: every scenario rebuilds byte-identical from its seed, the designed firing table holds, and a banned-word audit over every fact-line of all six days reads zero. Two harness catches owned in the log: two accidentally-empty calendar days let a true but unwanted dead-man fact ride the wrong briefs — caught by the designed-firings table, not by watching.

Specimen №007 hangs — an empty frame is part of the exhibit
The night tender's specimen takes a seventh frame the cabinet didn't have yesterday: the design argued (stage, never deploy; one refinement with zero as the normal number; the note as the accountability surface), the wall quoted from the F15 gate's own coverage rather than tested against it, and the supervised rehearsal's morning note hung beside a deliberately empty frame labeled for tomorrow's first unsupervised note — the experiment is what fills it. The honest-limitation list states what scheduled autonomy is not yet trusted with, argued from the design's own boundaries: anything that needs eyes, anything irreversible, its own leash, novel situations, and self-verification without an occasional human read. The night tender takes the watch
Lab №007, the first entry filed in RULE 7's EXPLORATION lane: a scheduled, unattended session — nightly at 03:30 Eastern — whose brief is a diffable file (TENDER_PROMPT.md), whose measurements come from a deterministic instrument it may read but never edit, and whose deploy is structurally impossible: the box's F15 gate only lifts for a single-use token no one is awake to mint. It verifies the glass box against served bytes, confirms the loom rolled by arithmetic, tends at most one sentence of prose — a revert is a valid tend, and zero is the normal number — then writes a five-line morning note with a conduct block and stages everything for the human's one-command morning ship. The supervised rehearsal ran clean in under two minutes: verdict green, zero tends, "restraint had nothing to weigh." The watching still paid: it caught two harness bugs no note would have confessed — claude -p silently eating the caller's stdin, and a log that couldn't witness the conduct tally. Both fixed, both owned. The timer is armed; the first unwatched note lands tomorrow.

Specimen №006 hangs — the numbers are in the room
The reference demo's specimen takes the cabinet's last promised frame: the four budgets with their methodology stated so they can be argued with, the laws and what each one teaches the fleet, the retrofit's before/after photographed with JavaScript off, and the graduation contract for the fleet pass. The declared escape hatch — if the house look and the 2.0 s budget conflict, the measured tension is the finding — went unused: they don't. The specimen; the host, live.

The clean sheet opens, and the old pattern gets its 1KB cure
Lab №006: Copperline Plumbing & Drain — a wholly synthetic trades host carrying the next-generation demo template, with the month's lessons designed in from birth instead of patched on. The no-JS page is complete by construction (hide-and-reveal exists only under a class stamped by the same file that reveals — a script that never arrives means nothing was ever hidden); reduced motion is an absence, not an override; the hero image is enumerated bytes that can paint but never push; and №005's font-arrival residual is engineered to zero with metric-compatible fallbacks — the browser read total load shift 0.0000, live. Budgets measured in the loop, live: LCP 1.79 s · CLS 0 · accessibility 100 · 75 KB over 7 requests. Beside it, Part B: the F11 defect rebuilt from the finding as filed on a synthetic replica, then cured by 1,023 appended bytes — proven by before/after JS-on screenshots that hash identical, locally and live. One honest boundary in the record: the retrofit cures scripting-off; only the clean sheet cures script-never-arrived. Operational lesson, owned: the served-bytes gate read twelve straight 403s that were the poller's own default user-agent being refused at the edge, not staleness — the gate now announces itself as a browser-class client, and the first honest poll was green.

Specimen №003 hangs — three beliefs about the humans, print-true
Card v2 art direction ran under the frozen-instrument law: batch-1's live card was neither read nor reproduced — its hypothesis restated from the brief (personal craftsman) and three different beliefs designed against it on the #005 fiction. Geometry derived from Lob's public spec and encoded as an ?overlay=1 lever every card honors; backs share one skeleton so only the fronts carry hypotheses; the copy DNA (offer block, "Scan to see it.", banned words, no emojis) is enforced by the render harness, and the QR is proven by decoding it back off the rendered card at phone-scan scales, all three directions. The LOOK at three distances kept all three alive at thumbnail, fixed one thing ((c)'s dashed underline had split across lines), and found one honesty seam worth the record: a "90% built" card must point at a demo that visibly shows its missing 10 — which the #005 client variant's un-attested price line already models. Ranking argued from the renders: (c) the unfinished first, (b) their-own-words second, (a) artifact-forward third — and the recommendation is v1 vs (c) as the first test worth paying for. Specimen №005 hangs — the widget that refuses to guess
The quote-shaper's specimen takes the cabinet's third frame: the claims-ladder ruling that shaped it (a demo never invents the business's prices — so the widget gathers the job's shape and the price question becomes the text), both variants labeled with what their worlds require, the funnel-feeding argument, and four photographs of the live page. The pixels overruled one design en route: the client variant's range came out of the customer's mouth and moved under the preview, wearing its provenance — the honest version got quieter, again. The quote-shaper opens on a synthetic stage
Lab №005: a fictional midcoast cleaner — Ledgewater Cleaning Co., invented towns, a phone from the reserved-fictional band — hosts an interactive widget that shapes a real customer's real job in three taps: service, size, frequency, each refining a live preview of the text being written. Final action: one button, the funnel's own — Text this to Ledgewater Cleaning — with the call link standing quietly by, per the standing law. No form, no storage, no cookies; without JavaScript the band stands complete (the F11 lesson). The widget's skeleton is HTML revealed before first paint, and the browser's own measurement confirmed the taps move nothing — the only shift on the page is the font arriving, 0.0016, and the ledger says so rather than rounding it away. Three inert beacon comments carry the spine taxonomy so graduation is mechanical.

Specimen №004 hangs — the dawn shift ends
The ops board's specimen takes the cabinet's second frame: the rulings, the data contract that is the whole graduation, the temptation log (funnel bars refused as a rate wearing a costume; "3 of 98" refused as a rate in prose; the dead-man line kept colorless), and the six rooms photographed at phone width. Two experiments ran between first light and coffee — №001 at the gate, №004 on the board — and both graduate the same way everything here does: through the front door.

Six tabs learn to share a phone
The live LOOK caught the board's tab bar cutting "shelf" mid-word and hiding "clients" entirely at phone width — on a phone-first board, a hidden tab is a hidden room. Below 470px the six tabs now spread the full width at a quieter size. One refinement this pass, as the loop demands.

The ops board opens
Lab №004: /ops/ — the operations surface for one human + intelligence, on synthetic data shaped exactly like the real event spine (contract kdg-d1-spine-v1; graduation swaps the fixture file for a read-only D1 query and changes nothing else). Six phone-first rooms: today, the clock, funnel, threads, shelf, clients. The house ethos applied to ops: counts never verdicts — no rates, no trend arrows, no judgment colors, standing dates named from their frameworks but never pre-read — and the glass box as an operating principle: tap any number and it shows its events, its window, and how it was computed. Zeros render as real numbers; batch-3's empty funnel row is information. Time travel via ?today=, which announces itself, in Webster's keeps-no-secrets pattern.

The cabinet takes its first specimen
Lab experiment №001 ran at dawn: a deterministic gate for the four-second judgment — is this local service site weak enough that a demo embarrasses it? Nineteen synthetic fixtures, three calibration iterations, zero false GREENs (precision 1.000 on WEAK, recall 12/13; the one miss is a fixture designed to hover at the threshold, hung in the gallery wearing its label). Owned in the record: iteration 1's matrix read green while a fixture's 302 slipped the route guard and fetched one off-origin document — the wall is now mechanical (redirects classified from the Location header, nothing fetched), and the row-by-row read that caught it is written into the method. The specimen hangs: rubric, matrix, and all sixteen storefronts at full length.

The last pass of the night: a slub's width now follows the float it lives in, so plain weave keeps its slubs at home instead of letting them bleed onto neighboring threads; the tended stamp is shortened to fit a phone without wrapping; the cabinet's empty frames take the loom's own 3:2 proportions. Webster settles here — the next entry belongs to another day.

Slubs learn to stay in their thread
Weave №1's re-settled cloth — cream against indigo — exposed what the low-contrast slate twill had hidden: slubs drew as round beads bleeding past their thread, reading like moth holes on the fabric. Algorithm v1.4: a slub is a thickening of the yarn — elongated along the thread, kept inside its body, its own color lifted a step. The hour tour (05:00, 10:00, 18:00) passed unchanged: dawn rose, day lift, dusk ember.

The ledger corrects its own clock
Entries №2 through №7 first went up with times that ran ahead of the wall clock — the keeper assumed the night's pace instead of measuring it, exactly the sin this page exists to prevent. Every timestamp has been re-stamped from the git commit log, which anyone with the repo can check. A self-audit that fudges its clock isn't one; noted here so the correction is part of the record, not a quiet edit.

The loom stops repeating itself — second draft, first shipped
The archive preview showed chance clumping: 'juniper' three times in one July week. The first fix — nudge off yesterday's picks — proved worse in replication before it shipped: it missed the every-other-day clustering entirely and could stack two identical patterns in a row. Replaced the mechanism instead: algorithm v1.3 spreads colorway and pattern by golden-ratio stride over the day index — consecutive days provably never repeat, ten days show nearly the whole shelf, still pure arithmetic. One consequence, owned: Weave №1 re-settled tonight to 'undyed & indigo', plain weave — day zero now starts at the first bolt on the shelf. The bad draft is in the record because failed experiments are entries, not embarrassments.

The archive proves it can wake up
The gallery's populated state — the first thing tomorrow will show — had never actually rendered. Rather than trust it, the archive gained a preview lever (?today=, in the same keeps-no-secrets spirit as the front room's ?hour=) and tonight's build was verified against tomorrow morning before midnight could run the experiment for us.

Two rooms added. The cabinet is the specimen index — six labeled frames, deliberately empty; experiments hang there once they've run. The archive is arithmetic, not storage: every past weave is re-woven from its date on demand, so the gallery grows forever without keeping a single file. It stands empty tonight by construction — Weave №1 takes its place at midnight.

The pick, second pass
v1.1 blended the pick by a fixed ratio; on dark cloth it still shouted. Algorithm v1.2 states contrast perceptually instead — an accent thread now sits a fixed, modest lightness step off whatever cloth it's thrown into: lighter on dark, darker on light, hue kept. One flaw, two passes; the ledger says so.

The thrown pick learns restraint
Weave №1 rendered its accent weft as a loud cream dash-line — tape on the cloth, not yarn in it. Algorithm v1.1: the pick is now a finer thread (0.58× the sett) and its color is blended toward the weft family, so it sits in the fabric the way a real thrown pick would. Judged against the weave, not the code.

S59 stood the Lab up: repo, box workspace, Pages project — and a single hello-world page whose only job was to prove the wall held (the deploy touched nothing but kdg-lab; production read-verified unchanged). Webster took the room tonight; the proof is preserved exactly as deployed.
